the creative process
A creative process becomes tedious when you lack the energy and inspiration to push through; we procrastinate and hope motivation will find us. Rather, we insist we must find it. Yet all we find is half-strung anxious thoughts, thin layers of built-up fog just thick enough to obscure reason.
The single-line artworks depict the emotional and mental distress of compromised thought-processes, unconsciously developing into insecurities with both visible and less visible consequences. They depict subconscious confusion, unconscious conclusions, and anxious rigidity that stem from the mask societal expectations requires of us.
The mixed media works speak on the fear of making mistakes and assumed "consequences" of creating “bad” art; trying. this is depicted through reworking mistakes over and over again with various media. Body-less fog of faces suspended in blank void; the external opinions that get internalised, justifying their presence through distorted logic.
